DIRECTOR OF RISK MANAGEMENT SERVICES
Develops and administers risk management programs for healthcare facilities on a statewide basis. Creates and modifies policies to comply with regulatory compliance concerns and industry practices. Coordinates and develops organization-wide programs for risk-free services.
Bachelor's degree in a related area, clinical experience in an acute care facility and at least 5 to 7 years of experience in the field of healthcare risk management. Familiar with a variety healthcare risk management concepts, practices, and procedures.
Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. Leads and directs the work of others. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Will direct the clinical risk management programs, including the functions of clinical risk management program administration and risk management education. Responsible for coordinating those systems necessary for identification, evaluation, monitoring, reduction and/or elimination of professional and general liability risk exposures.
Will provide counseling and education to healthcare facility leadership, clinical personnel, board of trustees and medical staff members related to risk exposures including risk prevention and risk reduction. Frequent travel on a statewide basis (some overnight). CPHRM, CPHQ, CHSO, CPSO, ARM, or similar professional designation(s), is a plus. Reports to Executive Vice President, Operations.
